A team of detectives in Munich solve all kinds of crimes.

First episode of Tatort in Cologne since 1973. Max Ballauf, who worked in Duesseldorf and also as a DEA Agent in the USA, returns to Germany to partner up with Freddy Schenk. Schenk has been working in the Cologne Police for a long time and doesn't agree with Ballauf joining the team. Obviously they don't get off to a good start, but meanwhile have to solve a murder: The dead body of a former cop is found in the Rhein river. He had worked in the drugs unit and he and his team liked to torture their convicts. Is the murder someone who held a grudge against him?

The SOKO Köln investigates the cathedral city with humor and often with hard work. Their cases take them into a variety of environments, from the Cologne clique to the terraced housing estates on the outskirts of the city.

The Daily Soap shows the everyday life of various employees and friends who live in the center of Cologne. The age of the main characters is between 17 and 68 years.

A rather regular state official, who works at the building authority, becomes a puppet of a few super rich. They want to make quite a lot of profit from a planned large-scale building project. Quicker than anticipated, the father-to-be gets surprised by a couple of amenities and notices that life isn’t too bad in the sphere of these semi-legal affairs. Soon, however, he has a prosecuting attorney on his tails and has to decide himself for a side.
